Woodward Italian Language Course - Corso di italiano per stranieri

I have finally started creating our Free Italian Language course.

This is something I thought of doing a couple of years ago though it has only been in the last month or so that I have really started working on the content.

Note: I only have one morning a week to create lessons and their respective charts (oh, and videos when I get around to it), so don’t expect this course to be fully completed from basic to advanced Italian any time soon. This course will be a continual work in progress, always adding new content, which I will do whenever I get a little free time.

At the moment I just have some lessons about different basic topics and as I create more new lessons, I will insert them into the correct position in the course. Sometimes I will stumble across something that I, as a learner, have doubts about and will then investigate and create a lesson around it since if I had a doubt, surely someone else learning Italian will too.

I have also created quizzes for most topics which, for now, you will not be able to see unless you are registered. I haven’t opened registration or a sign up form yet as I still need to work on a few things behind the scenes. One bonus of being registered is that it will allow you to see your course progress (which you will be able to save) and have automatic grading for the quizzes. I think the course registration will become available after I have around 50 or so lessons.

Videos for learning Italian

On each of the Italian course lessons, I plan to add a video so that students can hear the correct pronunciation of each word and phrase etc. BUT in order to do that I will need to hire some native Italian speakers for those audio parts. So, maybe at the end of the year, once I have a decent amount of lessons up online, I will get around to creating the videos. Though first I need to create the content!

Perfection

I know I am not perfect… Yes, I once made a mistake way back in 1982… so if you do find any errors (grammar, vocabulary or whatever) that may have slipped into any of my charts or lessons, then PLEASE let me know via our social media accounts so that I can correct it and thus continue to help others learn Italian correctly.

Why don’t you charge for the course?

Ha ha ha … as if you would really say that. But since the question is now out there… all of our Italian lessons are free to access on our website. If you have an ad-blocker, please disable it as part of our modest income comes from advertisements and this in turn will help pay for the native Italian speakers for the videos. I have also started creating pdf resources for Italian language teachers which you will be able to purchase cheaply and this will help finance the site (not only are you helping the site but they are just really useful for learners anyway).

Can I use this material with my students?

Yes, you are welcome to use our resources at your school, though you can’t put any of our charts or lessons on your own website (they are fine to share unaltered via social media though). Please link directly to the lesson that is useful for your students. Note that there will be Italian language teacher resources that you will be able to purchase cheaply and these can be printed/photocopied for classroom use.

You can access the Basic Italian Course here.

I hope you find this Corso di italiano per stranieri useful.
